This is a delicate Sauvignon Blanc Musque from the magic of Dutton Ranch Vineyard. This wine is direct press to a stainless steel tank, inoculation with Assmannhausen yeast, and to barrel for 9 months just after fermentation begins. Barrel fermentation yields texture, complexity and development of varietal presence, the barrels used are seasoned to not impact the purity of varietal expression, and mature the wine with balance being the ultimate goal.
The first attractions are scents of melon, guava and Fuji apple. Already center stage these aromatics will continue to flourish over the next 24 months. The 2009 is deliciously crisp with hints of vanilla and tropical fruits. The clean long finish is rich with flavor, balanced and graceful.
